When you copy the symbol table to the project, you only can get symbols not the comments.
If you still want to get all the comment in the latest project, you should copy them from the original to the latest project one by one, you cannot do it one step for all.

hand_drake is correct..

the symbols and comments are left in programming device when u download it in the plc..(cause of type memory use).

luckily u have back up program, but still only the symbols will do..and the comments...copy it one by one from yur back to the uploaded..

i hope it will help..happy new year!!!!!!!!

If you want to have comments, but the same as symbol file (the same as output coil in every network, will be assigned to the network comment.)
I always do it if my project is too long. This methode makes my time saving.

In a Function (FC) or Function Block (FB) or Organization Block (OB) Editor of Step7, change to STL (by pressing CTRL-2). Just press down the cursor from the top to the bottom. Then automatically network comment changed as the same symbol output coil. Then you can change again to the LAD (by pressing CTRL-1) or what ever view mode LAD/STL/FBD as you want.

Note: this methode will carried out if you have the symbol file, such as copying the old symbol project to the new project file. Or making the symbol by your self.

Good luck.

Open your backup project in Simatic Manager.
Go online with PLC with the menu View>>Online.
Choose all the blocks from the online view window.
Upload them to the project with the menu PLC>>Upload to PG
Now you will have your comments.
