Installation of COML S7

Post by randy »

Hello...

I've been trying to install the COML S7 but never succeed.

During installation, the part of "Registering components" makes me confuse. I waited for 1.5 hour and still the "Registering components" part did not finished. Moreover, there was no sign whether the "Registering components" was on process or not.
After waiting without result, I clicked 'Cancel' for the installation.

My question is, does it take a long time for the installation to complete? Or the installation (in my case) is error?

The operating system of the PC that I used is Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3. And previously, I have never installed any SIMATIC Net software before. This should be the first one.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys. Thank you.

Best regards,
Randy

Hello Randy,

Basically to install SimaticNET you should have patience. Also for all siemens sofware. But this regards the lastest versions. And 1.5 hours for 2000 version is too much. Probably the problem is with your OS. I am afraid this version doesn't support Windows XP SP3. Can you tell, why do you need this version of Simatic Net? Maybe for your purpose is more "comfortable" other version.

Regards
