Problem with encoder on an Omron MC421

Post by rualcosi »

Hello everyone. I'm here to ask for your help with a "little problem" I'm encountering at my workplace, which I'll explain.

I have 2 machines that use an Omron CS1G-H CPU45 PLC and an MC421 motion control board. Now, here's the problem. This board, to receive the signals from the machine's four encoders, needs a converter, one per axis, from a very old manufacturer, obsolete material but still functional. I know from what I've read that it has to be a 24VDC to 5VDC converter, as the MC421 board doesn't support any other type of signal. My big question is: is there anything on the industrial market that I can use to replace these old converters and keep the machine running without having to spend a ton of money to replace and alter the entire automation of both machines? If so, could you tell me what is recommended?

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone and for any help that may be provided.
