[HELP] Communication issue: Kinco MT4500T to Siemens S7-200 (CPU 224XP)

Post by GerLet »

Hi everyone,

I'm a beginner with these legacy devices. I usually work with TIA Portal, but I'm trying to learn how to integrate some hardware I had in storage. I'm currently unable to establish physical communication between the HMI and the PLC.

My Setup:

PLC: Siemens S7-200 CPU 224XP.

HMI: Kinco MT4500T.

Software: Kinco HMIware v2.5 (Global Version) and STEP 7 Micro/WIN.

What I've verified so far:

PLC Side: Simple Ladder logic where V0.0 triggers Q0.0. It works perfectly when forcing the bit via Micro/WIN Status Chart.

HMI Side: I configured a Bit Switch addressing V.B 0.0 using the Siemens S7-200 driver on COM0.

The Issue: The project downloads successfully to the HMI via USB, but there is no communication with the PLC. I am getting this specific error on the HMI screen:

[2] PLC NO RESPONSE 0-02-00

My Questions:

Cable Pinout: Does anyone have the exact RS485 pinout diagram for the cable between the S7-200 PPI port and the Kinco MT4500T DB9 (COM0) port? I suspect my cable wiring is the main issue.

Parameters: Are there any specific baud rate (9.6k/19.2k) or parity settings that I should check in the PLC System Block to match the HMI settings?

Software/Drivers: Does HMIware v2.5 require any additional drivers or DLLs to properly support the Siemens PPI protocol?

Since I'm just starting with this specific hardware integration and coming from the TIA Portal environment, any manuals, diagrams, or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
