Unlock Siemens TIA Portal FB/POU Password

Hello everyone,

Several videos are circulating on YouTube claiming to retrieve or bypass the "know-how protection" password in Siemens TIA Portal.

After reviewing them, it appears these methods rely on brute-force attacks against the password mechanism. However, as noted on various legitimate forums and in cybersecurity discussions, Siemens does not store passwords in plain text but uses a hash function.

These demonstrated attacks seem to apply to TIA Portal up to version V17.

Has Siemens strengthened its password-handling methodology in later versions to make it more complex?

Has anyone here looked into this or have experience with newer versions?
