Re: [?]: how to upload a program from WINAC RTX plc using external PC
Hello,
First question - did you install the program WinAC RTX on your laptop?
In the following you find some remarks on the technical forum of Siemens:
The IPC427C is an embedded class PC, a couple of generations old. Most of the IPC427C's I have seen are running Window Embedded Standard 7, which is a form of Windows 7. However, I have also seen IPC427C's running versions of Windows XP, and versions of Linux.
For control software, the IPC may be running Siemens WinAC RTX, which was an S7-300 family software controller. However, the IPC may be running custom control software or 3rd-party control software.
Siemens sells software call Image & Partition Creator, which includes software for doing full image backups of IPC's. However, the last version that fully supported the IPC427C was v3.3, which was discontinued in 2018. At this point, I would recommend looking for 3rd party image backup software that supports the O/S that your IPC is running.
The easiest way to figure out what O/S your IPC427C is running is to find a monitor with a DVI interface, and plug it into your IPC. The image displayed on the monitor will likely tell you which O/S it is running. If you know the login credentials for the IPC (or if the IPC is configured to auto-logon), you can connect a USB keyboard and mouse and look to see what software it is running.
If the IPC is running WinAC RTX, you can connect to it using Profibus or Profinet (depending on which is it using) from Step 7 v5.5+. You can upload the code and data blocks, although there won't be any symbolic names or comments in the uploaded blocks. If you can get to the Windows desktop, you can use the WinLC control panel to create a backup image of the PLC program that can be loaded into WinAC RTX.
Answer of the previous post:
Hello
An IFP 1500 is connected to the IPC427 via a VDI port
As you said, I installed a mouse and keyboard on the IPC and entered Windows 7, inside Windows only IPC Wizard and WinLC RTX programs as well as a proprietary program of the Machine manufacturer ( windmoellers & hoelscher ) to view the parameters and settings There were machine parameters and there was no Simatic Manager or Symatic TIA program, when I run WinLC a view of a CPU is displayed and when I click on its toolbar it asks for a username and password to enter it. I do not have.
Is it possible for me to connect to it via my personal laptop and com port on the iPC and the PC adapter and the simatic Manager program or simatic tia and see the hw configuration and the written project?
I also need to change the minimum and maximum value of one of the controllable parameters in the monitoring system ( w&h program Which is nemed topas sl ) via iFP, how is this possible?
For example in wincc flex you can define a minimum and maximum range for each value, I need to be able to change this value
Answer of the previous post:
As per the previous post, you should connect your laptop with SIMATIC Step 7 5.5+ to the IPC427C via the PROFINET port, if you have a PROFIBUS DP port you can also connect here.
You will be able to upload all Machine blocks, however it will all be in statement list and no comments.
With regards to the other 3rd party software running on this system, you will need to consult the manufacturer.

Do you want to connect and download the program, but do not specify which device you are connecting to, through which connection, or which program? There is very little information to help you. Elaborate, please.Eng_mimo21 wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 7:40 am Dears,

Thanks for the support
- The IPC has a ProfiNet connection. With IP 192.168.1.116, I have tried to connect and upload the program using my laptop WITH S7_V5.5, but I can't.
The IPC is connected to a touch display, and I can see all the configuration and settings for it. However, I want some way to upload the program from it.
Is it possible to install Step 7 v5.5 on the IPC Win 7 Ultimate and check if we can upload, or is it not doable?

Hello,
sorry for my stupid question - do you have the S7-program of the WINAC RTX ?
In the normal way you have a S7-program with the hardware part for the WINAC RTX. And over this program, you can connect with the PC where the WINAC RTX is running.
There is an example in the Siemens documentation, where they put a PC-Station in the program (Example ZEBRA) and work with them. And the connection is Profibus.
I will look for an example with WINAC RTX.
Hope this helps

If you want to download a program from a PLC virtual controller using the Step 7 program, then you must be sure that the virtual controller is configured so that you can connect via profinet, because by default it is configured for MPI connection.Eng_mimo21 wrote: Sat May 24, 2025 7:40 am Dears,
