[?]: Restore Factory Setting (Bootstraping) MP370

Post by wendrahooreg » Wed Sep 17, 2008 2:43 am

Hi all, I have searched in this forum and I didn't find any matching topics which I need.
I am facing a problem with restoring factory setting or bootstrapping to an MP370. The MP370 can not load windows anymore and I am using WinCC Flexible 2007 to do it. I have tried bootstrapping the device with no success. This is what I've tried (step by step):
Turning the power off from the MP370, connecting the RS232 from my laptop to the MP370 (I am using a PCMCIA RS232), setting the transfer setting using serial, checking the restore factory setting check box in the OS update window, clicking transfer and turning on the MP370.
I've done this approach as stated in the help.
My questions are:
Am I missing something here? What is the RS232 configuration for bootstrapping (stop bit, etc)?

I really appreciate any kind of help. Thank you very much for your kind attention.

Best regards,
Wendra

solution

Hi guys, thanks for looking through my problem ,although none of you seemed to know the solution. A friend of mine finally managed to find the solution. Sadly, I didn't see how it was done. But this is the solution according to him:
The instruction from WinCC Flexible help is not accurate. He tried bootstraping the device without turning it off, and it just worked.
I hoped this can help others who are facing the same problem.

Regads,

Wendra
