Overview
The new version 6.2 of the scalable process visualization system SIMATIC WinCC offers new features for the standard visualization as well as for the optimization of the production through Plant Intelligence. Innovations to existing WinCC options and new options further expand the functionality of the overall system:
Effective immediately, Windows elements such as menus and toolbars can be integrated into the user interface of the runtime application.
The alarm system receives the function “Alarm Hiding”. By selectively hiding alarms at times when there is a large number of messages provides greater clarity, specifically for the use in larger plants.
At the same time the current database Software Microsoft SQL Server 2005 was integrated. Thus a central archive server can now also be – optionally – set up for the central process data archiving with a maximum of 120 000 archive tags.
In doing so, a Windows computer can – if desired – be set up as a connectivity station with access to all current and historical WinCC data in the database.
Furthermore, a SIMATIC WinCC station, in addition to its task as process visualization and operator station, can now also be configured as a SIMATIC Maintenance Station for efficiently maintaining a plant.
