Hello,
I have a RS232-TTY converter which works properly with S5-95. But my PC cannot communicate throught this cable with S5-115U 943B. It is cable similar to this one:

Do you know other solutions for communiaction between PC and S5?
My other problem is that my interface cannot communicate with any PLC when I use RS232-USB converter. Do you know why it doesnt work ?
Thanks!

To use an USB-converter with a SIEMENS RS232C - TTY interface or other is not functional because the signal which goes out the converter is not compatible with the signal which goes in the rs232c-tty interface.

hi ,
the problem for comunication usb - rs232 is :
1) which is the version of step5 and windows you have?
all the version for step 5 run in dos mode with emulator for windows, and you can see the windows in the step5 but run in dos mode, ( i not test the last version step5 v7.23 for win XP ) but the other all run in dos mode with emulador for windows and the dos software can not abble the usb port and no go on-line with the plc s5 .
You understand , the problem is the software must be can run in windows mode , the only software manager the usb port is windows and not dos !
You must try with the last version on step5 v 7.23 and windows xp sp1,
i not try , but you can make the test!
best regards, pichi burich
