Siemens Mp277 connected with Allen Bradley Slc5/04, port RS4

Post by comac » Mon Aug 25, 2008 8:19 am

Dear All,

I have always used the panels MP270 and MP370 to connect myself with PLC ALLEN BRADLEY series SLC5/04 and SLC5/05 through a serial port with protocol DF1 !

Siemens has renovated the panels with the series MP277 and MP377 eliminating the port RS232 IF1A, and leaving only the port RS422/RS485 IF1B. As a consequence I cannot set up the communication any more!!!

Up to now I have tried to use a converter RS232<>RS422 by Siemens 6AV6671-8XE00-0AX0 by means of the cable suggested in the manual 1747-CP3 (with the series MPx70 it works wonderfully)!
Since I was not satisfied, I used a converter by SENECA RS232<>RS422, but unsuccessfully.

Some of the configuration settings with WINCC FLEXIBLE 2007 ADVANCED HF4

Communication : ALLEN BRADLEY DF1
Interface : IF1B RS422 (switches moved behind OP in RS422 and the port RS232 enabled in the control panel even for remote transfer)
Speed : 19200
Parity : No-one
Data bit : 8
Stop bit: 1
Control sum : CRC
Destination adress : 1
CPU : SLC50x

SIEMENS HOT LINE HAS THROWN IN THE TOWEL WITH STYLE!

We need urgently your advice!

Many Thanks
Daniele
