[?]: how to solve EKB some problems with single drive

Post by sky59 » Tue Aug 07, 2012 11:47 am

As I find this forum useful I want to share my experience with others, it is not too many lines but I believe very usefull information:

When trying to install long keys using EKB (not tried short as not my interest) there is a problem with system with single drive, for instance C: (EKB complains something about the boundaries)

- I solve this by creating another partition on HDD for instance D:, or sometimes it is enough to put USB key inside...
for instance E: (removable) then EKB installer is happy and works

- I noticed, sometimes there are problems when HDD is somehow slow, then I install RAMDISK 10MB and install all
long keys on it with great success :-) (ramdisk loads image at startup windows)
I had such problems when I installed WXP SP3 on external USB2.0 harddrive with Step7 and WinCC on it, licenses were
very unreliable, using RAMDISK in memory all problems solved 100% !!!!!
so I can use very old notebook even without internal HDD for programming

Any possible thanks for me deeply appretiated :-))
