have you got .stu file

your sta file can be opened with all version from 4.1, but libset wiil be in 4.1

for open this file with stu file your must have version 4.1 and it can be unlocked

For application password erased, you can save data (.DTX or .DAT) with new project password erased online with cpu protected, but in this state if you do modification online with cpu, on next connection you will have message error « request password error » because on last compilation there is a password discord beetween cpu and project unity.
You must reset cpu and transfer completely new project (to plc with old project, with password compiled in CPU) => erase PLC to factory setting.
For that : move CPU one slot to the right and restart. Connect for transfer program and do this (Schneider procedure) :
Modicon PLCs like M580 and M340 can be reset to Factory setting using Unity Pro software, that can be achieved as follows

Open Unity Pro software "Start menu -> All Programs -> Schneider Electric -> SoCollaborative -> Unity Pro -> Unity Pro
Open the Unity Pro project which is already running on the PLC or a new created project can be used
Click on PLC menu -> Connect to the PLC in standard mode using a USB cable
Click on PLC menu -> Transfer project to PLC
Interrupt the transfer project process before it is being completed by clicking on Cancel button or by removing the USB / Ethernet cable.
Notice that PLC status is being changed to no configuration "NO CONFIG"
Click on PLC menu -> Project Backup -> Backup Clear
Click Ok button on the warning message "Potential content of the Backup zone will be erased Do you confirm?"
Restart the PLC

You can now put CPU in place (one slot to the left) and it's ok for tranfer the new application without password.
