[?]: pinout for cable to connect altivar 312 to rs232 com 1

i know the cable connection within my laptop is rs232 com1 and have made an abb cable to connect rs232 to rj45 which works thanks to this site.
i now need to make a cable from rs232 com1 to rj45 but the altivar is rs485.
can someone explain how to to this please?

2 rx 4 D1

3 tx 5 D0

5 gnd 8 common

any input greatly received.
this is just for local parameter upload and download direct from laptop to vsd.
