[?]: how measure 2.5 meter diameter of paper ?

i neeed an opinion about measure the diameter (or ray) of reel of paper in movement in machine paper.
diameter max is 2.5 meter
i test ultrasonics sensor (4...20mA) but is not good because
- the measure is of precision to the millimeter
- and gramagem of paper and rotation speed is not constant

Don't use IFM Laser Optical distance sensor 01D100 - is very bad false analog output, but true LED display.

I use a lazer photocell of
Leuze electronic model ODSL 30.
It has resolution 0.1mm, all metal
I installed it 3 years ago (works 24h/ per day) inside a RollingMill and it is still working perfect.

you can use a roller agaist the roll of paper with a spring pushing the roller to the roll of paper and use a sensor to detect de position of the roller. i hope i explained my self.
