How to get program from a protected PLC ?

Post by D3V17 » Sun Jan 27, 2008 7:53 am

We`ve run across this with an AB PLC and the only way we could recover the program was by getting AB involved. They were not wiling to show anyone how to decript the data.
If you have a hard copy of the program maybe you could just retype it; otherwise you will likely need someone from the manufacturer of your particular PLC.

Peace.

How to unlock password

Some PLCs use an ascii code for protect the source code, but at the time that the programming software request a conection to the serial port of the CPU, this send the information including the password by the port, then if you spy with some trafic analizer software, you will see the password in the ascii table. This method works with some PLCs.
