[?]: Error in Rs link enterprise Urgent

Post by pacheco » Wed Nov 07, 2007 5:10 am

Hello !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a problem with RSlinx enterprise, this was working right. But the last time, show:

"an internal error has accurred. You must close RSVIEW and the stop RS Linx Enterprise service before continuing.
Failed to find the topology node in the configuration"

I don't know that to do about this situation

SOLUTION:

Post by pacheco » Wed Nov 07, 2007 2:23 pm

On the affected computer, delete or rename the file in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Rockwell\RSLinx Enterprise\RSLinxNG.xml
Copy the DefaultTemplate.xml from \Program files\Rockwell Software\RSLinx Enterprise to \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application data\Rockwell\RSLinx Enterprise\ and then rename the file to RSLinxNG.xml
Reboot the computer.
Launch RSView Studio and the error should no longer appear.
Browse the network on the Communications tab in RSView Studio or browse the network when configuring RSLinx Enterprise device shortcuts. Rename any device with illegible characters (eg. InViewEtherNetA³ßˆ’T?Ũ?) by right-clicking on the device, selecting Properties and renaming the device to a valid name (eg. InViewEtherNet 2).
If you are running an SE distributed application, repeat steps 2-5 on each computer with RSLinx Enterprise or RSView Studio installed.

Note that the user may no longer have the drivers and/or shortcuts that were configured before the error occurred.

Can confirm this is the solution even in FTView 12 SE
