Factory talk ME verion 8.00

This is a technical question as I am an RSView32 user I am now forced to work with Factory talk View ME v8.0 (no free version exist on this site)

I need to have three computer screens at different locations set up reading the same data. 1st the screens need to handshake who is the master including a lock out mechanism that prevents two other screens from gaining control of the first screen. I think I can manage this handshaking.

The real question is Do I need three run-time copies to do this or can 1 copy run on 3 different screens. The sales man wants to sell me three (15- screen) run time copies.
The next question is" Is it possible to multitask the screens. In RSVIEW32 you can purchase 150 tag based system and take 100 tags and multiplex them (Compact logix) by 32 that means that 100 tags become 3200 individual tags.

I am thinking if you have 4 extruders and we have heating setup screens that are identical then just by changing one bit on that screen (IE: extruder#1 to Extruder #2) then the screen has not changed but the data is now relevant to Extruder #2. I think this is possible provided the screen can be identified by the PLC. I am worried about running out of screens when accessing 3 - 4 extruders.

Anyone with some experience in this ??

Also I have version 7.0 but I have not paid Rockwell their $ 1000.00 yearly maintenance fee so can I develop on 7.00 and install this on v8.00 run -time ??? If not does this mean my customer is also forced to upgrade ??

a) You need a license for each monitor (at least if the final user wants to be in the legal zone).

b) You can design displays as templates, and then use placeholders to populate them with data. But so far as I know you can not surpass the maximum number of tags declared in the license.

c) In panel views, ME Runtime is able to run projects that were compiled with an earlier version. I think it´s the same if you're running ME Station.

I don´t understand why you are "forced to work with Factory talk View ME v8.0". I'm developing a distributed application (one server, two clients) and discovered that FTVSE v8 can't manage some requirements of the project. For that reason I had to choose FTVSE v7 and the very first question to RA people was if they could sell me licenses for that version. The answer was: we sell only FTVSE v8 licenses, but you can use them to activate FTVSE v7. Just now, I can tell you that the licenses I bought are working with FTVSE v7 perfectly.

hi , I needed to change the .DLL files , .EXE and .LIC . to enable the software. I have done this to the 6.1 version of the factory talk view .... Anyone know which files they have changed in this version ......

The Hex values 55 8B EC 83 E4 F8 81 EC on flexsrv.exe we use to modify no longer exist.
I'm not skilled enough to understand what to do. I'm sorry.

2- Install FTAM 3.60
3- Proceed like FTV 7
