a-b virtual backplane service failed to start

Post by alexbeatle » Tue Jan 01, 2013 5:07 am

Just want to share what I had problems with.
After installing RSLogix5000 v20 the computer became very slow. If you look in the EventViewer you will see continious errors: "a-b virtual backplane service failed to start". This is because it is looking for the CIP USB (activator USB). If you have a corporate version you need to disable this by removing USBCIPHelper.exe from the start-up.
This can be done by either Start\Run\msconfig\Startup and untick the USBCIPHelper.exe or uninstall USBCIP completely.
