DP Master slave communication

Good morning.
I'm working with a cjm-CPU23 PLC's,
I'm trying to establish communication between a CJ1W-PRM21 wich is a profibus master module and a CJ1W-PRT21 wich is a profibus slave module,
I want to ask about the architecture of the master and slave modules.
it is clear that the master module should be attached to a CPU module, I just want to ask about the slave architecture, is it possible to establish communication between master and slave directly just like Siemens PLCs or I should add a PLC module to the slave unit ?
