Hi, I've got a simple question which probably is hard to answer.

I'd like to know if it is possible to create a full backup from a CP1L PLC which has the UM password set. I do not need to crack the password unless that is required to make the backup, but the most important for me is that in case the PLC breaks down, I can buy a new one and use the backup to make it working like the broken one.

Software like Xtal is not usable, because
a) it uses serial communication where the CP1L uses USB, and
b) it's doing a brute force attack, but the CP1L enters a ban lock mode after 5 wrong passwords.

There should be some software around, but I've been unable to find it so far.

Hi I will give you steps but you must test if it works

Open Cx Programmer
click auto online and click direct online
at project explorer open memory
right click on CIO and click transfer from plc
click on hexadecimal format and Save
and do the same with A,T,C,D,H,W

now you have a copy of all memory blocks
