[LINK]: usb driver for my S7-300 cable adapter

Hi,

I have here a S7-300 PLC with an usb adapter. I installed the Step7 V5.4 on my Vista home premium and that works perfect. But I can't install de usb driver for the usb adapter. Where can I download this driver?

What Service Pack version of Step7 5.4 have you installed?
Are you talking about the Siemens USB Adapter?

Step7 V5.4 starting from SP3.1 isn't allowed to be installed on WinVista Home Premium according to Siemens Service&Support homepage.

Maybe you are lucky installing SP4. If you use Siemens USB Adapter, Step7 should contain drivers for this adapter. Otherwise you need to ask the manufactorer of the adapter.

You won't be even lucky doing a support request at Siemens Service&Support site due to the WinVista Home Edition. They will tell you it isn't allowed to have this combination, therefore they won't support you unfortunatly. I know this very well because I did work for Siemens presales support and that's the way if you ask the central support for help about such combinations.

EDIT:
Do you have the possibility to install WinVista Business or Enterprise (32Bit)?
Sorry, I cannot send you the driver because I don't know the driver file name.

thnx people, I installed the driver, it installed on my vista home premium version...? Tuesday i'm gonna try to connect with my PLC.

it could connect with my PLC. So you really don't need Vista bussines or more.
