How to run Step 7 Lite on windows 10 ?

Hi,

I have a license for Step 7 Lite and the PLC laboratory was working fine with PCs running Windows XP and installing Step 7 Lite.

But recently, the department upgraded the OS to Windows 10, so Step 7 Lite stopped working. I know there's Step 7 v5.6. But there's no license for this version right now.

So I'm trying now to run the version that's licensed which is Step 7 Lite.

Is there any way solve this problem ?

Yes, but the college can't use crack for any type of software.

You know formal organizations can't use illegal licensing for software products.

Considering that (according to Wikipedia) Windows 10 has been released in 2015, so years later, I think you were already quite lucky that it seemed to have worked for a while. Anyhow: as ChristophD wrote, set up a VM on your PC and install a OS to which Step7 Lite is officially compatible.
Or set up a PC directly, in case you cannot use VMs.

Yes, but the college has the CDs of the Step 7 Lite with the copies of licensing.

We just need to run the software on windows 10, but it's not possible for compatibility issues.

Are there any tools that allow us to run it on Win 10 ?

Of course eventually, if we can't do anything about it, then the only solution is to buy one of the new versions and problem solved

install virtual box and made a virtual machine with Windows XP, and after install your official Step 7 lite.

Another problem is that the college prohibit using VMs and Win XP forever. New set is Win 10.

But anyway we sent email to the administration noting that there's no way to get Step 7 Lite to work with Win 10. So they have to buy the new version.

We maybe able to assist with getting this to run on 10 as we do simillar tasks for older AB software .
As we specialise in Siemens products and suppport as some clients are still on S5 .
Are you able to share the ISO or the install file for a trial > failing that I can run you through the VM detup fro this to opperate ?

does anyone have valid download link for STEP 7 Lite V3.0 (any SP). I have .k7p file, and need to open it, but have no software to do it. Step 7 can not open this file, I need STEP 7 Lite version. Official links on siemens site do not work anymore...
