S7-200 work's whit any rs485 adapter ( ppi protocol), but on the rest of the siemens s7 series you need to buy a original MPI adapter from siemens.

S7 Mpi & Ppi ActiveX
Include Vb 2005 & Vb 2008 example project.
Best interface for s7. Because this activeX working very fast.
