unfortunately I've no ideea about Downtime monitor, but I assume that value goes to a PLC and that is the machine speed setpoint; that case I would define a new "place" into the PLC for the speed and set it from WinCC (pdl).

It does nor exist PLC accepting S5 AND S7 programs.
If the PLC color is black you MUST use S7; if its light yellow/grey you MUST use S5.
If you want to change the S5 with S7 you can try automatic converting of S5 prog to S7.
Althrough, I am warmly reccomanding you to do it manually.

so everythig is WRONG; you cannot use discrete valves for this application, you must use regulation valves (valves driven with analog signals). You can use PWM with electrical heaters but not with valves.

Don't know if possible, I think not, but the "normal way" to log alarms and warnigs is to activate a bit, I think (not 100% sure) U can define & use internal tags (means that bits are not into the PLC, they are only WinCC internal).
Have no ideea about PCS.

you have to install the PLC simulator and licence. This simulator runs in the memory of your PC and acts like a real connected PLC; so U don't need any communication adapter; when you download the project use the MPI address of the simulator. and don't forget to start the simulator before downloading.

SFCs blocks reside into the S7 PLCs; they are not present in the Simatic manager project neither (means you do not have their code); suppose ABCIT is not a Siemens tool, so it can't simulate SFBs and SFCs.

You have to search for a demo project and see how to connect, open and close an archive. The rest is up to you.
